But that’s not the thing I’m gonna talk about – Friday I opened my exhibition at Kulturrevier Radbod. More than 70 people came to watch my photos. If you’re interested, you want to visit the exhibition, too. This is the link to my leaflet with all the opening hours and the adress.

And some news: Many friends of mine wished to see the pics I took on the Wangerooge 2006 trip. Wangerooge is a little island in the North Sea – I think it’s very boring there, the only fun is walking around, get a burned neck and get drunk. But have some fun and enjoy these „old“ shots made on Fuji Sensia 200 and some Nikon 28mm and 50mm lenses. Here we go!

What did we learn from the early christians, what did we learn from what Gandhi did, from the Hippies?

Mankind invented money, the bomb and WW2. Envy and greed.

The story of human existence is a story of getting away from love.

Because we are so complicated beeings, we have become a society without plausible goals.

Our only goal should be to live and nothing but to live in peace. 

Why we only abuse our intelligence for killing us?

As the christian church started to grow they took money from the people – the entire idea has failed.

Ghandi and many many others cried for freedom and peacefulness and what do we do? We make war until this day.

As I write this people have to die for no reason. The only reason to die is when you got to go by nature.

The Hippie’s aim was to respect each other. Today they are used for marketing profit-driven aims.

It seems that we’re all going wrong and until our self-made end there will be many who try to change the world – but the world is not a learning wolrd.

In our society money is more than love – the book of revelation told us what’s the consequence.

I’m no christ, but you don’t need to be one to know.

When will we ever learn?

„Ahhm it’s blurred, greenish, grainy and has scratches I think ehh“

Hmm, to me this is the look of badly treated, awfully scanned material. I know you can get nearly the same results like in digital. Some on Flickr for example abuse this „analog look“ (some use PS, some real cams)  to distract us from their sucking composition, their non-thrilling images.

It makes no difference what you’re using. If it is a cell phone, a Hasselblad, a Holga or a pinhole cam. All we want is to attract the viewer. Therefore we can use what we want or can afford. The part, that makes the whole thing to be art, is our imagination and creativity.

Sensia vom Fuji is a affordable slide film, not as expensive as Velvia and less saturated, but i like it.

Tmax 100 from Kodak is a medium contrasted BW Film with low grain – i prefer the original Tri-X.

Hey Friends!

Sun is shining, people walk around and get a burned neck by the sun, eating ice cream and jumping in the water while I sit in my room and typing this on a macbook. Yeah! I got the flu and you know the flu is the blues. I hate my hurting nose and everytime you clean it, it hurts more and gets drier and drier and seems to fall in pieces.

And the worst thing: No photos to show you… Next week I won’t have the time to shoot some, but I got some pics from my recent trip to mallorca these days – coming soon…   If there’s more free time let me show you the Mamiya 645 I used for doing the Usedom stuff .

It’s bad if you want to go out and shoot pics  but you can’t because of your work or illness. So better sleep or read or post something here.

Nevertheless I want to recommend three of my favorite songs to you! You might know I love to play the guitar, so some of these include very famous and breathtaking guitar-solos everybody MUST know! Most songs speak for themselves, but let me point out that these great pieces of art influence generations until today. This list is well known and nothing exotic, but it’s not about that – it’s about expression and impression!

I shot those with an Ixus 860IS, Nikon D90 with several Lenses and a Mamiya 645 on Fuji Velvia. The colours of Velvia turned out best of course, but my Scanner (Epson V700) delivers only a little part of the resolution Fuji Velvia gives you. So consider the 645 only, when you really let the images scan or blow up very big. Most of the time I used the Ixus for it’s compact format and the really delicate colours – I am really surprised by this! The Nikon D90 was the camera that became obsolete the week I shot – it was as hard to carry as the Mamiya, so why don’t shoot the Mamiya?

The image above is made with my Mamiya 645, the image below is from the Ixus – isn’t that epic and didn’t we think we’d need a Leica to do those shots? Hopefully not!
